W Criterion #2

Examples of writing within the disciplines are used as a means of instruction about typical structures, modes of reasoning, styles of address, and the use of technical language and of evidence.

How can I meet this criterion?

To help students use "examples of writing within the disciplines"?

  • Compile as many relevant samples as you can find, but be sure to annotate them.
  • Ask permission to keep and use former students' assignments as exemplars. Again, be sure to annotate the samples.
